Downtown Dartmouth Holiday Window Décor Contest
Starting November 27
Photos of merchants’ windows and storefronts in downtown Dartmouth will be posted in online gallery where folks are encouraged to vote on their favourites. The delightful windows create an atmosphere of holiday cheer and draw folks downtown to see them.
Animated Window Display at 122 Portland Street
Beginning Dec. 5
View a whimsical animatronic window display created by local artist Chris Little of LoHifi Productions. Delicate steampunk-inspired figures move merrily in a three-window showcase called “Flying Home for the Holidays.” Recently, Little’s work was showcased at the Smithsonian affiliate Morris Museum in New Jersey.
Dartmouth Christmas Tree
Beginning Dec 5
At the Sullivan’s Pond beginning December 5th over 11000 lights decorate a 35 foot tree.
Downtown Dartmouth Sphere Tree:
It’s back! This festive favourite is located beside the town clock on Alderney Drive at the base of Portland Street. The orbs of twinkling white lights set the tone for your holiday walk throughout downtown Dartmouth.
Holiday Colours on the Neon Mural
Stop for a holiday selfie at the “Neon” Mural at the corner of Portland Street and Victoria Road. Every evening, he wall lights up downtown Dartmouth with a lively display of everchanging festive colours.
Deck the Wall!
Check out the illuminated holiday display on the Turple Wall at 198 Portland Street. Local business owner Greg Turple hand-crafted this ingenious mural of 5000 LED lights. You will be delighted by the festive show anytime you stroll, roll or drive by.
